Your invoices chase themselves

Chasing a client is the job nobody enjoys. It is also the one that decides whether you get paid this month or in six.

  • Scheduled reminders
  • Firmer with each one
  • In your client's language

Today

  • The due date passes; you notice three weeks later.
  • You hesitate: good client, you would rather not annoy them.
  • You end up phoning, uncomfortable, and lose the morning.

With Bilto

  • The first reminder goes out the day after the due date.
  • The second arrives a week later, more firmly worded.
  • You only step in if there is still no answer.

How it works

  1. You set the payment term when you issue the invoice, thirty days by default, adjustable per client.

  2. Past the due date, Bilto sends a first courteous reminder, then two more, each more direct, if nothing moves.

  3. As soon as payment arrives the reminders stop by themselves. A client who has paid is never chased.

The tone rises, but stays civil

The first message simply recalls the invoice and its due date. The second names the delay, the third announces the formal next step. None of the three threatens: an aggressive reminder costs you the client, and that is rarely what you want over five hundred francs.

Legal basis: art. 104 para. 1 CO, 5% a year from formal demand, with no contract clause.

Five percent default interest, if you want it

Article 104 of the Code of Obligations entitles you to 5% default interest from the moment you formally demand payment, with no contract clause needed. Almost nobody claims it. Bilto can show it on the reminder, or not; it is a setting.

Every client in their own language

The reminder goes out in the language of the original document. A Zurich client gets a reminder in German, without you writing it or having it translated.

You see who owes what, on one screen

The dashboard separates paid, pending and overdue, with amounts. That is all the information you need to know whether the month is good or whether calls have to be made.

Can I turn reminders off for one client?

Yes, client by client and invoice by invoice. A disputed job, or someone you would rather call yourself, is set aside in one click.

How many reminders go out?

Three by default, from the courteous reminder to the last firm one. Beyond that Bilto stops and flags the invoice: what follows is a formal notice of default, and that decision is yours.

What if they paid and I have not recorded it yet?

That is the risk with automatic chasing, which is why reconciliation runs off the QR-bill reference. An identified payment stops the reminders with no action from you.
