The heating quote, subsidy deducted

Replacing a boiler is five figures, a sizeable deposit and a subsidy the client does not understand. The quote has to make all three readable.

The amount before and after the subsidy

The Buildings Programme and cantonal grants change the decision entirely, but they arrive afterwards. One line for the gross amount, one for the expected grant, one for what is left to pay: the client decides on the right figure.

The deposit that pays for the pump

A heat pump is ordered and paid for before it is installed. The deposit is calculated on the accepted quote, goes out with its own QR-bill, and you are not fronting twelve thousand francs.

The job that spreads over weeks

Removal, connection, commissioning: three visits, sometimes three months. One accepted quote, then invoices per stage, without ever reopening the original document.

Commissioning gets charged too

Setting up, balancing and handing over the documents take hours a lump sum always swallows. On their own line they are visible, and the client knows what they are buying.

Can I show the subsidy on the quote?

Yes, as a separate line. Word it as an expected rather than guaranteed amount: the conditions depend on the canton and the commune, and it is the client who files the application.

How do I handle a deposit of several thousand francs?

The deposit is a percentage of the accepted quote and goes out with its own QR-bill. The balance is invoiced at commissioning, and both stay attached to the same job.

What if the equipment price changes between quote and order?

You change the item and the client re-approves. That is more honest than a clause in small print, and it avoids the argument at invoicing.

Yours is not the only trade

Every page starts from a real sample quote and the constraints of that trade, not from a copied brochure.
